School Council

Miss Notaro currently runs the School Council with representatives from each class.

Our School Council is a group of democratically elected children who meet regularly with Miss Notaro to discuss relevant issues about the school and the local community. This time is also used to organise School Council events to raise money for the school or charities. School Council members are expected to share ideas as well as disseminate information from the meetings with their class.

Past events:

The children organised a fundraiser to help Ukraine families – raising over £400.

The children held a bake sale in order to raise money to enhance classroom equipment. This provided children with a sense of ownership over the items they wished to have in their classroom.

Carlton CofE Primary ensured everyone had a special Christmas. The children created Christmas hampers for local families affected by the cost of living crisis. Bedford police station have also asked the school council to create Christmas decoration for their tree.  The children have also worked hard to create hampers for the NHS staff in Bedford Hospital!

The children organised a culture and heritage event to celebrate the uniqueness of our school! Parents and careers were invited to school to speak to children about their culture and even taste lots of different food!

The school council team held a Topsy Turvy event to raise money for our school. This was a huge success and the children enjoyed the Topsy Turvy activities!

Summer 1:

The School Council have recently organised a bake sale! The children raised £131 from this and will soon decide what to spend the money on together in their next meeting!
